Brisbane International: Andy Murray Says On Comeback "I Have To Be Smart With My Hip"

As players gear up for the Brisbane International which kicks off next week on Monday, former world number one Andy Murray says he is in better shape to compete.
Ever since the Scot had hip surgery, he has been finding it difficult to return to his previous form and his ranking has plummeted as a consequence.
Speaking about appearing at the tournament next week he said, "I owe it to myself to give myself a chance to get back to the level that I'm happy competing at...If I stopped six months ago or not given the hip time to rwcover, I may look back and regret that decision."
Last year, Murray was ranked world no.1 during the injury spell that he had to layoff for six-month and returned to tour at Brisbane only to wuthdraw. He later underqent surgery for the injury and has since been finding hard to find his best form.
"I can't believe how quickly things can change. When i first had issues with the hip I was No. 1 and 12 months later I was struggling," says Murray who is current in Queensland, Australia for the tour on Monday.
"I thought I had time on my side. There's nothing I'd rather do more than stay out on tour. I lovethe practice, the competition, the locker. I want to play as long as I can."
Recovery has not been easy for the Scot who withdraw several times last season and ended it with defeat to Fernando Verdasco in the quarter-finals at Shenzhen Open.
He is at No. 256 in the ATP World ranking and believed he can still work things out saying, "I have to be smart with how I train and manage [my hip injury] as best as I can."
