Didier Drogba Retires From Playing Football
Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has announced his retirement from football - a career that lasted for 20 years.
The former Chelsea forward confirmed he has decided to bring to an end his football career in an interview with the BBC World Service's Sportshour on Thursday.
"After 20 years, i have decided to out an end to my playing career," says the two-time CAF best male footballer of the Year "It's the best way to end, helping some young talent to develop."
Drogba won four Premier League titles and Champions League (2012) with Chelsea, scoring 164 goals in 381 appearances. In addition, he won two Premier League Golden Boot in 2006/7 and 2009/10 season.
Speaking of his next plan after retirement he says "to give something back to the game was the best way to finish as i have learned so much in the game."
