2018 Nitto ATP Finals: Roger Federer Eases Through Second Round-Robin Match With Dominic Thiem
Roger Federer has restored hope of winning his seventh season finale at the O2 Arena as he breezed past Dominic Thiem in his second round-robin match of Group Lleyton Hewitt on Tuesday.
At the opening match, it seemed the Swiss would not last in the event having dropped the round to Kei Nishikori in straight. It was a new Federer in the second match.
Today, it was different with Dominic as he dominated the game, using his backhand slices to put the Austrain effectively in control as he cruised on to win in straight sets 6-2 6-3.
As the six-time champion bids for his first title at the event since 2003, he is also a title shy of reaching a remarkable feat of 100th world tour level title.
He will face in the final round-robin match, South African player Kevin Anderson who had an awesome game against Kei Nishikori on Tuesday.
