The 21-year-old won the biggest title of his career as he defeated world no. 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets by 6-4 6-3.
Djokovic had maintained a clean run without dropping a set until the final when he conceded defeat losing both sets for the first time in the week. The five-time champion was in 3-4 advantage before the Germain rallied and claimed three straight games to win the first sets, and cruised through second set for historic victory in London.
Zverev finished the season with four titles - two on hard-court and two others on clay-court - amongst which is Washington Open, Madrid Open and Munich Open.
After the match, Djokovic admittedly said "deserve to win" title, giving his reason he said he has incredibly improved better than he was at the group stage.
