2018 Brazilian Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton Wins 100th Career Pole Position At Interlagos

Lewis Hamilton clinched his 100th career pole position at the Brazilian Grand Prix, making him the first driver ever to reach the remarkable feat in history.
Already, the Briton had won his fifth career title in Mexico, winning the pole today made it Mercedes-AMG fifth consecutive pole at Interlagos.
He crossed the finish line in 0.093sec ahead of rival Sebastian Vettel who will be serving grid penalty for failing to yield to instructions to turn off his engine, damaging the scales as he drove off angrily.
Hamilton, narrowly escaped an accident that could have happened at Turn II between him and Sergey Sirotkin which he could have been penalised for, but he was exonerated because evidence showed that he was caught up in the oncoming Williams' driver's speed.
Speaking about the incident, Hamilton explained what happened saying, "As far as I was aware no driver behind me was on a quick lap. I was making sure I had the gap in front, but then all of a sudden I saw a car coming out of 11 at high speed so I was like 'oh my God is that someone on a flying lap?'"
Having won the title, Mercedes constructors edge close to winning their fifth straigh championship title, as they lead with 585 points over their rival team Ferrari which are 55 points behind them.
