Vienna Open 2018: Kyle Edmund Loses To Fernando Verdasco In Second Round
Kyle Edmund, After winning his first tour level career title at the just concluded European Open in Antwerp, ended his unbeaten run to Fernando Verdasco.
It was the world no. 30 and Edmund's first ever career meeting, and it turned out that the Spaniard claimed the victory over the Briton to reach the quarter-finals of Vienna Open.
Kyle, 23, after losing the opener to Fernando, managed to break back in the second set to level the match, but the 34-year-old regained control after he broke a serve in the decider and cruised on to claim the round in three sets 6-4 3-6 6-3.
The British no. 1 will now proceed to Paris Masters - scheduled to kick off on 27 Oct through 4 Nov. 2018 - which he would have to win to be qualified for ATP finals in London.
In the quarter-finals, Fernando will take on either John Isner or Gael Monfils.
