United States GP 2018: Sebastian Vettel Wins Final Practice
Ferrari's Sebastain Vettel outpaced championship title leader Lewis Hamilton to finished fastest in the final practice session of the United States Grand Prix on Saturday.
Unlike on Friday, the weather was dry and conducive at the time of the session which saw the German crossed the finish line in 1.33:797 ahead of his teammate Kimi Raikkonen who finished 0.046s later to claim second place.
Mercedes driver Hamilton came third behind the Finn driver in 0.073s, followed by his teammate Valterri Bottas in fourth position.
Unfortunately for Sebastian, the three-spot starting grid penalty he was given in FP1 has ruined his chances of starting in pole position on Sunday in spite of winning the final session.
Sebastian was penalised for driving under red flag when the race was stopped as a result as commotion caused by Sauber's Charles Leclerc at Turn Nine.
The German would have to ensure he wins the final race on Sunday, better still make sure Hamilton did not score more than seven points than him, otherwise he forfeits the title to his Mercedes rival.
