Roger Federer edge closer to claiming his third title in Shanghai having defeated Roberto Bautista Agut in third round after almost two hours of play
The top seed made it through to quarter-finals after an impressive contest from the Spaniard who broke back strongly and won four straight games to claim second set, and he came back stronger at the decider, winning more point to break the set in ninth game and knocked his opponent out in three sets by 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
Federer maintains his unbeaten run with Bautista whom he leads by 8:0 in all career meetings, and will face in next match Japanese player Kei Nishikori.
However, the world no. 2 says after the match that he is "really quite happy" to win, and talking about his opponent's stunning performance in second set, he added that he "really had to raise his level of play in that second sets" like fire to hold him down to decider.
