Rolex Shanghai Masters 2018: Roger Federer In Third Round After Surviving Opening Match Scare Against Daniil Medvedev

Russian Daniil Medvedev put top seed Roger Federer to a tough test at the opening round, but found the Swiss to be a tough one for him to eliminate, eventually was defeated in three sets.

Federer started off impressively at first set until the second set when the 22-year-old broke back and claimed the set and also picked the first game in the deciding set, but as the world no. 2 changed his tactics, he was forced out after three sets by 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

The two-time champion will face in the third round Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut who defeated American Mackenzie McDonald in three sets by 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
