Paris Masters 2018: Novak Djokovic Into Third Round, Beats Joao Sousa In Straight Sets
Novak Djokovic is off to an impressive start at the Rolex Paris Masters as he reached the third round after winning his match with Joao Sousa.
The four-time champion claimed the match in straight sets 7-5, 6-1 converting breaks points as Joao aggression wane in the second set as he bids to extend his dominance of the event.
For the Serb, winning the event would give him the necessary points needed to give the leap in ranking to once again claim the top spot.
That might not come easy for the world no. 3 as Rafael Nadal will also be bidding for first title at the event - he reached the final of the event for the first time in 2007, losing to retired Argentine player David Nalbandian.
Djokovic will face in the next round Damir Dzumhur who eliminated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets 6-3 6-3.
