Lionel Messi Turns Down Link Move To Man. City For Wages Tripple That Of Barcelona

Lionel Messi would not leave Barcelona even if Manchester City offered to pay him three-time more than what he earns following a report that the Argentine turned down an offer from City's chairman Khaldoon Mubarak.
According to a report from the Sun, the club chief executive revealed that after the player rejected his offer that belittles what he currently earn, he asked his head coach, Pep Guardiola, to try and convince him to see reason to move to England, yet he did not change his mind over staying at Nou Camp.
In an interview, Mubarak revealed that he wanted Lionel Messi to join his team and gave reasons he failed to land him at the club saying"We asked Guardiola to talk to him and we offered him triple the salary he had in Barcelona, but he never accepted."
Moving the Argentine from his club will be at a huge cost for City because the new contract he signed last year has a buyout clause in the excess of £600,000.
Never mind, City is well enough to pay his transfer fees, and since the 31-year-old does not seem as one who wants to change his club any time soon, that offer is as good as over.
