Jermaine Dupri Believes Super Bowl Halftime Show Is Too Valuable To Boycott
Contrary to artists like Jay-Z, Rihanna and Pink who turned down offers to performance at Super Bowl halftime show over issues between NFL and Colin Kaepernick, Jermaine Dupri holds the opinion that the platform is better used than boycotted.
Giving his take on boycotting the show as a way of condemning how NFL treat the former San Francisco quarter-back, Kaepernick, the rapper/producer feels boycotts are often ignored.
"Use that platform. Say what they've to say (speaking of Colin Kaepernick's ill-treatment by the NFL). Let it be heard. Boycotts and marches don't seem like they work to me, I'm sorry," said Dupri in a clip released by TMZ
Then he added that he has this feel towards boycott like "people ignore" it, but if "they talk about it, then the more people feel like it's something they have to address."
He did not condemn boycotting or marches outrightly, because he went on to share the opinion that it is also a way to making their voice heard, but Atlanta being his hometown, he believes he is an "unofficial" guest at the show and would like to eleviate the way his City is viewed.
