Japanese Grand Prix 2018: Lewis Hamilton Escapes Huge Crash With Pierre Gasly, Wins First Practice Over Sebastain Vettel
Lewis Hamilton dominated the race with a superlative performance to claim the first practice at the Japanese Grand Prix over title rival Sebastian Vettel.
He out-pacing the German who finished the race on super soft tyre and teamate Valterri Bottas at the Suzuka track - he only used "soft"tyre to finisg the race.
Meanwhile, in the course of the practice, the Briton narrowly escaped having a frightening car crash with Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly during their practice at the Japanese Grand Prix on Friday.
While the Frenchman was racing slowly, the title leader caught up with him at a break-neck speed on the line and had to made a swift run into escape from the obstruction to avert a ghastly car accident.
After the shocking incident was investigated, Gasly was found guilty to have caused obstruction that could have led to a massive accident with Hamilton, and got sanctioned as a result.
