Japanese Grand Prix 2018: Lewis Hamilton Wins 80th Career Pole Position

Lewis Hamilton has reached a remarkable feat of 80th career pole position, which is second to none in all-time most pole won by a driver in the history of Formula 1.
At the final qualifying session of Japan Grand Prix, the Briton dominated the race through from the first lap and finished in first place in 1:27.760sec ahead of teammate Valterri Bottas and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, while Sebastian Vettel had a difficult time following a poor choice of tyre that devastated his performance.
The German chances of competing favourably against title leader Hamilton was devastated by Ferrari's mistake in choice of tyre suitable for the changing weather condition at Suzuka.
They chose to use intermediate tyre when it began to rain, but the track soon dry and the choice of tyre turned out an outrageous mistake for the German and had to call for supersoft tyre. That led him to finish in ninth position.
Hamilton, who currently leads over his rival Sebastia in championship title bid with 306 points, stands the chance of widening the lead as he takes pole position.
