Cristiano Ronaldo Addresses Rape Allegation Says "My Conscience Is Clear"
Cristiano Ronaldo has come out to address an allegation levelled against by a Texas woman, Kathryn Mayorga, who claimed she was raped and assaulted by him in 2009.
In a tweet, the Juventus forward strongly denied the accusations, and wants the public to know that such is an "abominable crime" and against his believes.
The statement reads as follows: "I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that i am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, i refuse to feed the media spectacle create by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.
He soon followed the about statement with another as he tweeted saying, "My clear conscience will thereby allow me to wait with tranquillity the result of any and all investigations."
Ronaldo's rape allegation came up when Mayorga to Der Spiegel magazine that the Portuguese international raped her in the bathroom at Palm Place Hotel in Las Vegas.
She has filed a lawsuit against the former Fifa Men's world best player which has been strongly challenged by the Portuguese lawyer.
