50 Cent, Starz Sign Multi-Series Deal Worth £114 Million
Rapper 50 Cent otherwise known as Jackson Curtis is making it big in his new adventure following a multi-series deal worth $150 million (£114 million) he signed with Starz - the premium television network airing his famous series Power - for a peiod of four years.
Chris Albrecht, Starz CEO, confirmed the development in a statement that the management is pleased to get on board with the rapper whose series is one of their key programs with average viewers of more than 9 million.
"Both on screen and off, Curtis has proven he can deliver content that our views want to watch. He is the real deal and we have given him a real deal," says Albrecht.
He went on to add that the move is to expand their relationship with the rapper with the hope that it will be the "beginning of many new and exciting venture to come."
The deal is believed to be the biggest any producer can get from a premium television station, and as Jackson said about discussing the deal with Albrecht after they had talked about his G-Unit Film and Television, "he let me know i was requesting the biggest deal in premium cable television history."
This is a groundbreaking deal for the rapper which will see him has access to Starz franchises and also to Lionsgate liear and digital platform franchises to be used in developing his own forthcoming G-Unit Film and Television project.
