Warner Bros., Henry Cavill Address Speculations He Drops Superman Role
Henry Cavill has come out to address rumours that he has dropped his role Superman, and Warner Bros. are currently searching for suitable replacement to take up the role from him.
On Wednesday, the Brit, 35, in a creepy clip posted to his Instagram account, somewhat responded to speculations that he has relinquished the row, he wrote in the caption, "Today was exciting #Superman."
The clip released by Cavil dismissed reports that he has left the role after talks broke down following discrepancies between his reps and the studio over scheduling for a role in an upcoming superhero movie Shazam!
His manager Dany Garcia also confirmed that the role has not been dropped in a tweet, "Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. Warner has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe," he wrote.
What actually may have fueled the rumours was that DCEU are gradually shifting focus from the franchise to Supergirl - a superhero film in which Kal-El will be cast as a teenager.
Warner, in a statement also affirmed that they are still in good terms with the actor in spite the shift in focus from the franchise.
"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we've always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged," he said.
