US Open 2018: Serena Williams Thrashes Latvian Anastasija Sevastova, Takes On Japanese Naomi Campbell In The Final

Women's tennis history is set for a big shake-up as Serena Williams is a title away from equalling  Australian Margaret Court's record of 24 titles set for all-time biggest Grand Slam winner.
The six-time champion reached the final of the tournament by thrashing Latvian Anastasija Sevastova in the semi-final in straight sets by 6-3, 6-0 in Flushing, and retained her unbeaten record with the 19th seed in two ATP FedEx series.
"Every day I step on this court I am so grateful to have an opportunity to play this sport." says Serena who reached her first final since given birth at Wimbledon but was defeated by Angelique Kerber in straight sets.
She went on to say in post-match interview that, "So no matter what happens in any match, I already feel like I have already won."
In the final, she is booked to face Naomi Campbell who becomes the first Japanese woman to reach a Grand Slam final after she beat American contender Madison Keys in straight sets by 6-2, 6-4.
