US Open 2018: Naomi Osaka Claims Title Over Serena Williams, Becomes First Japanese To Win Gram Slam

Serena Williams chances of equalling record of 24 titles set by Margaret Court for all-time biggest major single title winner has just been dashed, after losing the final match of the US Open to Japanese Naomi Osaka.
The 20-year-old who is the first Japanese player ever to reach Gram Slam final, incredibly upset the five-time champion in straight sets by 6-2 6-4 to become his country's first ever player to lift Gram Slam trophy in the history of tennis.
During the match, there were controversies between the American and umpire Carlos Ramos whom she described as a "thief" over disputed verdict, and was penalised for code violation given the Japanese the lead in the second set by 5-3.
"You are a liar. You will never be on a count of mine as long as you live. When are you going to give me my apology? Say you are sorry," says Williams before Ramos issued her a penalty for her disagreeing with him.
Having won the final, Naomi claimed her career first Gram Slam title by winning the final match over the 17th seed in Flushing Meadow.
