Shenzhen Open 2018: Fernando Verdasco Eliminates Andy Murray As Britain's Cameron Norrie Also Goes Out In Quarter-finals
Spanish player Fernando Verdasco has ended Andy Murray's bid for his first title of the season after thrashing the former world no 1 in the quarter-finals in straight straight sets by 6-4 6-4. The same was the fate of Britain's Cameron Norrie with Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka.
The 34-year-old has now defeated Murray back-to-back after knocking him out in the second round of the U.S Open, but have lost 13 previous matches to the Brit in all sixteen ATP FedEx series.
This will be Fernando's first tour-level semi-final match on a hard surface in two years, and will face Nishioka who eliminated British player Norrie in straight sets by 7-6(2), 6-2 after an hour and thirty minutes of play.
