Serena Williams Bags £13K Fine For Three Code Violation During US Open Final Match With Naomi Osaka

Serena Williams' dispute with umpire Carlos Ramos during her final match defeat to US Open champion Naomi Osaka has cost her $17,000 (£13K) in fine. 
The five-time champion charged at Carlos at the second set and accused him of being a liar and sexist somewhat taking sides to ensure her defeat to the Japanese player, 20. 
She was penalised by Carlos for three-time code violation, leading to Naomi's advantageous lead by 5-3 before breaking the set to claim the victory in straight sets by 6-2, 6-4. 
Breaking down the fine for three separate code violation which the American committed during the final match, those charges include:
  • Racquet mashing - $3,000
  • Coach violation - $4,000
  • Verbal abuse towards the umpire - $10,000
The take home for title winner of the US Open Naomi Osaka is $3.8 million while runner-up Serena Williams gets $1.85 million.
