Russia GP 2018: Lewis Hamilton Claims Victory, Widens Title Lead Over Sebastain Vettel

The championship lead between Lewis Hamilton and his rival Sebastain Vettel just got even wider after the Mercedes driver claimed the victory in Sochi.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen was leading the race ahead of Hamilton, Bottas and Vettel until when the dutchman pitted at lap 43, leading to him dropping to fifth place as the Mercedes team and Vettel sped by, and moved up to first, second and third position respectively.
Hence, Hamilton controlled the race in first place to the finish line in 1:27:25.181 sec as Bottas followed in second place ahead of Vettel whose chances of winning the title just got more difficult.
"It's a difficult day as Valterri did a fantastic weekend," said Hamilton of his Finn teammate who won pole position in the final of the qualifying session on Saturday.

At lap 25, Bottas allowed Hamilton to speed by him to move up in second place before overtaking Verstappen at lap 43. Hamilton praised him for his gesture saying, "he was a gentleman to let me go by."
The President Vladimir Putin of Russia was in attendance at Sochi Autodrom and was on the podium with Hamilton, Bottas and Vettel at the trophy presentation to the race winner.
