LeBron Throws Weight Behind Colin Kaepernick Commercial, Says "I Stand With Nike Every Day, All Day"
In the midst of backlash Nike is getting for fronting NFL free-agent Colin Kaepernick on their "Just do It" campaign commercial, NBA's L.A Lakers' player LeBron James has thrown his weight behind the sportswear manufacturing company.
The four-time NBA MVP winner dropped a statement on the footballer's commercial at 360 Icon Award ceremony in New York on Tuesday.
"Last but not least, I stand for anybody that believes in change. I stand for anybody that believes in a positive attitude and a positive matter...and I stand with Nike every day, all day," says LeBron as he accepts an award the contribution he has made in fashion and philanthropy.
Just as Colin Kaepernick is on a deal with the Nike, he also has a life-time deal worth $1 billion with the company which he signed to two year.
In less than 24 hours after the Kaepernick campaign kicked off, Nike reportedly recorded $43 million in media exposure out-numbering impact caused by negative reaction to flagging out the former San Francisco 49ers quarter-back as one of the images for the campaign's 30th anniversary.
