Kimi Raikkonen Leaves Ferrari To Rejoin Sauber
Kimi Raikkonen has find a new team and will no longer be Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel's teammate from next season, as he rejoins the team he started his F1 career with Sauber after completing two-year deal.
The Finn, 38, won pole position at the final of the qualifier for Italian GP which finished in second place behind Lewis Hamilton, and currently his third in championship title lead with 164 points behind Vettel (226) and Mercedes' driver Hamilton (256).
The 2007 champion announced his departure from Ferrari as he wrote in a caption to his picture update on his social media account, "Guess who's back?! Next two years with @Sauberfiteam ahead. Feels extremely good to go back to where it all began."
Kimi started his career with Sauber in 2001 before moving to McLaren Mercedes in 2002, starting off the season by finishing behind Michael Schumacher and in 2005 behind Fernando Alonso. After spending five seasons with McLaren, he moved to Ferrari in 2007, and debut with the championship title in the same season.
