Champions League: Barcelona's Lionel Messi Makes An Impressive Start With Hat-trick Against PSV Eindhoven
FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi showed his brilliance by starting the season with a hat-trick to wreck their opponents PSV Eindhoven in their Group B opening match.
The Dutch club was considerably overwhelmed by their hosts in Nou Camp stadium but managed to hold Barcelona down for a while after the Argentine had opened the scores curling home the ball from a free-kick in 31th minutes.
Shortly after Ousmane Dembele doubled the lead in 71th minutes with a shot from outside the box, Messi added a third with a light volley to an aerial pass from Rakitic in 77th minutes. Completing his first hat-trick of the season in Champions League, he showed his brilliance at scoring skillfully poking home Suarez's aerial pass from the area inbetween two defenders to the bottom right of the post.
The former world best player and team captain, completed his 48th career hat-trick as he led his club to the top of the table with 3 points ahead of Inter Milan which has the same points from 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
