Anthony Joshua Says His Next Choice Is Deontay Wilder
As we count down to April next year, no doubt Anthony Joshua will take on either American fighter Deontay Wilder or former champion Tyson Fury.
After AJ's victory over Russian fighter Alexander Povetkin on Saturday at Wembley Stadium, he expressed his desire to take up the much speculated fight with the American saying his next "choice would be Wilder" instead of taking on Fury whom Barry Hearn, Chairman of Matchroom Sport, believes "will not be in a position to fight on 13 April."
Hearn added in an interview on BBC Radio 5 live that the team has "sent a signed contract to Wilder already" for his fight with Joshua on April 13," and ascertained that an agreement will be reached on that if Wilder defeats the acclaimed Gypsy King.
Hearn believes chances of AJ fighting Fury is slim because if he won the fight with Wilder, the American would want a rematch, but the Briton's promoter Frank Warren declined giving a comment on that.
