US Open 2018: Rafael Nadal Survives Shocking Onslaught From Karen Khachanov To Reach Quarter-final

Rafael Nadal narrowly made it through third round with Russia's Karen Khachanov who battled him through the sets before conceding defeat to him at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
It was not a easy round as any one would expect from the Spaniard, as he faced the tough side the Russian who started off on a winning note before he fought strongly back into the match, staying mentally strong through tie-breaks at third and deciding set to the victory after winning in four sets by 5-7, 7-5, 7-6(7), 7-6(3).
Eventually, the defending champion managed to keep a cleansheet with the Russia in all five ATP FedEx head-to-head fixture in a bid to win his fourth title in New York.
This is the first in Khachanov's career to have ever won a set with Rafael Nadal in all previous four matches until their first US Open encounter on Friday in a match that lasted for over four hours.
The 17 Grand Slam winner will face in the quarter-final Georgian Nikoloz Basiliashvili who defeated Guido Pella in four sets by 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.
