US Open 2018: Rafael Nadal Eases Through To Third Round
Canadian player Vasek Pospisil could not make it through second round with world number one Rafael Nadal who conveniently defeated him in Arthur Ashe Stadium on Thursday.
The 28-year-old could not catch a breath playing with the Spaniard, 32, even when he tried to put up resilience at the second set, he was yet overrode by the 1st seed by winning four straight games and he then finally caved at the decider to be knocked out after two hours of play by 6-3 6-4 6-2.
Nadal admitted the sweltering weather condition has not been really conducive playing under as he says in a post-match interview that "playing under these condition is, first thing, not healthy, and second thing, is good for nobody - not good for the fans, not good for the players."
Nadal won his opening match with Denis Ferrer who retired from the match following a shoulder injury and he will face in the next round Karen Khachanov.
