US Open 2018: Rafael Nadal And Andy Murray Reach The Second Round

Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have reached the next match as they both knocked out their opponents in the opening round of the US Open.
World number one Nadal, 31, thrashed his countryman David Ferrer who retired from the match in second set In spite being in advantage by 3-4 having dropped the opener. As a result was eliminated in straight sets by 6-3 3-4.
David, 36, pulled out of the game following a calf injury which he during the second set, he says after retiring admitting that he "knew it was impossible to finish the match. I tried two more games. Finally I decided to retire...I'm sad because it's my last Grand Slam."
In another event, British player Andy Murray was forced to drop the opner to David Duckworth atter a tie-break but came from behind to defeat the Australian in four sets by 6-7(5) 6-3 7-5 6-3.
The Scot will take on Spanish player Fernando Verdasco In the second round while Rafael Nadal will face Russian Karen Khachanov.
