Silicon Valley Classic 2018: Serena Williams Endures Career Worst Defeat To Britain's Johanna Konta
Serena Williams suffered devastating defeat to Britain's no. 1 Johanna Konta who knocked her out in straight sets 6-1 6-0 at Silicon Valley Classic.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner has never lost a match without winning at least two games since 1995, her defeat to Johanna happened to be the worst she ever had in her career.
The world number 48 won straight 12 games and forced Serena to devastating lope-sided loss by making 25 unforced error and seven double faults.
This was an incredible performance from the Brit who exit Wimbledon in the second round, lossing to Slovak and former world champion Dominika Cibuikova in straight sets 6-3 6-4.
"She obviously wasn't playing anywhere near her best level," said Konta " but I was just trying to play the match on my term and do what I can out here."
The mother-of-one and former world no. 1 Serena, reached the final of Wimbledon and loss to Germany's Angelique Kerber in straight sets 6-3 6-3.
