Rogers Cup 2018: Novak Djokovic Concedes Defeat To Tsitsipas In Third Round
Novak Djokovic could not make it past third round, losing his first match since winning Wimbledon to his Greek opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas who had him knocked out of the tournament in their first ever ATP FedEx encounter.
The 13-time Grand Slam winner fought through a tie-break to win the second set after dropping the opener but the world ranked 27th made a comeback and claimed the deciding set to having his Serb opponent defeated in three sets by 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 after over two and half hour of play.
Tsitsipas, 19, has been in an incredible form since the just concluded Citi Open in Washington during which he reached his third tour level semi final losing to Alexander Zverev.
He will face in the quater-finals either Russia's Danill Medvedev or German Alexander Zverev.
