Premier League: Dele Alli Leads Tottenham To 2-1 Win Over Newcastle In Season's Opening Match

Tottenham started off the season on a winning note, defeating Newcastle 2-1 at home in their opening match on Saturday.
The magpies did not just go down in the opener that easily as Spurs have to work hard to get away with the maximum points by getting their front line busy.
Earlier into the match in 9th minutes, Jan Vertonghen powered a header home for a controversial opening goal which was later confirmed to have past the cross line by 9mm.
Rafael Benitez's side responded to their opponent's lead through Joselu who headed in a superb cross from Matt Richie in 11th minutes.
Spurs came out all for an attack to ensure an opening match victory and that soon happened as Sergie got across over through to Dele Alli and he headed that home for the winning goal in 18th minutes.
Tottenham held the lead through to full time to ensure a win over their hosts.
