McLaren Renault To Replace Fernando Alonso With Carlos Sainz
McLaren Renault has signed Carlos Sainz as the replacement for Fernando Alonso following the announcement of his retirement from the sport on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the team announced the appointment of the 23-year-old after signing to a deal which will take effect from 2019.
McLaren's chief executive Zak Brown in a statement described their new signing as one that will fit into the team as a "perfect blend of youth and experience" and for that reason they are "incredibly excited" to have him in their team.

"It's a great name in the sport with an incredible heritage, and the list of drivers that have raced for McLaren over the years are among the heroes of Formula 1. Fernando is of course one of them," said Sainz.
The Spaniard joined McLaren on loan from Red Bull in 2018 and his currently in 11 place with 30 points in driver standings for the World Championship title this season.
