Lionel Messi Misses Out As Cristano Ronaldo, Mo Salah Are Shortlisted For UEFA Player of the Year Award
Whilst Jueventus' Cristiano Ronaldo made the final list of men shortlisted for Uefa Player of the Year Award, Barcelona's Lionel Messi Lionel missed out.
The Argentine, 31, did not make it through to the final list of three-man whom were voted for by the panel of 80 football club managers and 55 journalist for the award.
The Portuguese who completed last season with Real Madrid as the reigning top goalscorer in the historic of Champions League with a single club, will face contend with Liverpool's Mo Salah who was voted EFL player of the year and season's top goalscorer.
Also in the list is Real Madrid/Croatia player Luka Modric who won FIFA Golden Ball at the just concluded 2018 World Cup in Russia in which his country finished in second place after losing to France in the final - it was Croatia first final experience of the tournament.
Former England captain David Beckham will also be receiving Uefa President's Award at the ceremony which will be held in Monaco on 30 August.
