Facebook To Stream La Liga Games Live To Its Subscribers

Facebook, hence, has the exclusive right to stream Spanish La Liga fixtures live to its subscribers in India and its neighbouring countries free for three seasons.
This is following an exclusive deal signed between the league and the social media network which gives it the right to broadcast games live to audiences in Southern Asian countries which includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and The Maldives.
La Liga will be the social media network first football matches to streamed live on the platform, a right which was previously own by Netflix until now. In the U.S, it already streams live to its subscribers Major League Baseball to the sports followers.
In India alone, the network has well over 270 million subscribers which will enjoy adverts-free stream of La Liga matches and not including Champions League fixtures.
Facebook's director of global live sport, Peter Hutton, told Reuters that streaming is not aimed at threaten media outlets as he says "this is one deal...not something that is a big threat to broadcast world."
Just as Facebook, In June, Amazon Prime purchased right to stream 20 league matches live on its subscribers with commencement from next season.
