Cincinnati Masters 2018: Novak Djokovic Wins Ninth Masters 1000 Title, Becomes First To Win Golden Masters Since 1989

Novak Djokovic has set a new pace in tennis history as he becomes the first player since 1989 to win nine ATP Fedex Masters 1000 titles at nine different tournaments.
The Serb slogged it out with his Swiss counterpart Roger Federer in a final that ended in his advantage in straight sets by 6-4 6-4, and extending his lead in their 46th ATP Fedex series by 24:22.
Djokovic won his eighth Masters 1000 title in Monte Carlos Open five years ago, and reached the final of Cincy Open in 2015 but was stopped by Roger Federer who claimed the title over him in straight set by 7-6 6-3.
Speaking his winning his 31st Master 1000 title and his second title of the year since his recovery from elbow injury he says "Obviously it's a very special moment to stand here for the first time with the winning here in Cincinnati."
Recalling having a surgery for his injury he says "the hard time I went through, it's been a rollercoaster ride in my career with injury, taking time off and having a surgery earlier this year. This seems bit unreal to be back at this level."
Djokovic becomes the first player every to reach the remarkable feat of winning golden Masters 1000 after Ivan Lendl in Stockholm 1989.
