Cincinnati Masters 2018: Novak Djokovic To Face Roger Federer In The Final
After three years, Novak Djokovic and world number two Roger Federer will meet once again to fight for the title in the final match of Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.
This will be the pair's 46th ATP FedEx Head2Head encounters which the Serb leads over his Swiss opponent by 23:22. Also, he is set to win golden Masters title in the final that will make him first player ever to reach the feat after Ivan Lendl in Stockholm 1989.
However, Roger Federer, in the semi-finals, thrashed David Goffin who pulled out of the match following a shoulder injury after he fought hard until a tie-break, dropping the opening set to the Swiss who won by 7-6(3) 1-1.
On the other hand, Novak Djokovic reached his sixth final in W&S Opening after a win over 2016 champion Marin Cilic in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Djokovic, recovered from dropping the second set to defeat the Croatian Marin in the decider after, sealing the victory at 5-3 with a forehand shot that landed on the tramline, bringing the match to a close in his advantage in three sets by 6-4 3-6 6-3.
The Wimbledon champion is set to lift his second trophy of the season, and speaking about the final match with Federer he said "it's a final for me and the sixth time...obviously this time I'm hoping that I can get my hands on the trophy. I will give my best."
