Andy Murray Withdraws From Citi Open And Rogers Cup, Blames Decision On Exhaustion

Andy Murray has taking a bow out of the tournament following an announcement of his withdrawer from quarter-final match with Aussie Alex De Minaur, and also would not be playing in Rogers Cup which kicks off on Monday 6th of August.
The three-time Grand Slam winner blamed his decision to pull out on exhaustion as a result of lengthy matches played from the opening round of the tournament.
He announced his withdrawer in a statement after his third match win over Romanian Marius Copil which lasted for more than three hour saying, "I won't be able to play my match tonight. I'm exhausted after playing so much over the past four days, having not competed on hard courts for 18 months."
Prior to the match with Copil, the Scot had to fight through lengthy matches in the first round with Mackenzie McDonald, and second round with his countryman and British No. 1 Edmund Kyle before reaching the quarter-final.
In January, the former world no. 1 was diagnosed of hip injury which has since left him struggling to find his peak which was one of the factors that forced him to withdrawer of playing in Wimbledon after losing to Edmund Kyle in the second round at Eastbourne International 2018.
He went on in his statement to announce withdrawer from Rogers Cup saying, "I also need to be careful and listen to my body as I come back from a long-term injury...There are lots of positives to take from this week. So I'll take some time to rest and recovery - I won't play in Toronto next week."
In acknockledgement of the Scot's withdrawer from the tournament, the organisers of Citi Open tweeted in response wishing him a " speedy recovery" and hope he would use this as a tool to make a greater comeback into the sport.
