Thierry Henry Quits Sport Pundit Job To Pursue New Career As Football Manager
Thierry Henry deemed it time for him to focus on managerial job after successfully leading Belgium to win bronze medal as an assistant manager at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The former Arsenal star revealed that he declined £10 million contract extension from Sky Sport to allow him focus on his ambition to be a coach.
The World Cup bronze medallist expressed his departure from the UK-based media in a tweet that the last four years has given him "extremely rewarding coaching experiences in football".
For that reason, the Frenchman, 40, said "these experiences have only made me more determined to fulfil my long-term ambition to become a football manager."
Breaking the news to Sky Sports, he announced is decision to quit being pundit with the media outlet saying he "wants to spend more time on the pitch and concentrate on my journey to achieving that goal."
Since theformer France international co-led the Belgium national to World Cup glory, he has reportedly been hunted by three football clubs - one from the UK and two from outside the country .
