Russia 2018 World Cup: Samuel Umtiti Heads France Through To The Final As Belgium Will Compete For Bronze
Belgium's hope for the trophy has just been squashed by France to which they lose by 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Belgium did not just bow out timidly. They were close to getting a goal in 22nd minutes through Toby Alderweireld but France's Hugo Lloris dived to saved his shot from going through.
The match went through the half time goalless until after the break when France claimed the victory through Griezmann whose corner found it way through to Samuel Umtiti in the area and that he completed with a header for the winning goal in 51st minutes.
Belgium, being on the brink of losing the chance to get a place in the final, came out to get an equalizer but it all proved futile in the end at the referee's whistle.
France are now set for their second World Cup trophy which they last won in 1998, and will face either England or Croatia in the final on Sunday July 15.
