France have successfully booked their place in the semi-finals after they have defeated Uruguay 2-0 at the World Cup.
The South Americans were well contained by France which did not give room to a surprise on attack from Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani and they kept their dominance up throughout the match.

Late into the first half, Rafael Varane put France in the lead with a header to a cross from Antoine Griezmann's free-kick in 40th minutes.

After the break, Griezmann doubled the lead with a left-footed shot from the edge of the box which Uruguay's Fernando Muslero failed to save as his parry went wrong, letting the ball went off his catch through to the post in 62nd minutes.
France will face in the semi-finals either Brazil or Belgium on Tuesday 10th of July.
