Russia 2018 World Cup: Belgium Are Through To Semi-finals As Brazil Are Eliminated In QF First Time In 32 Years

Belgium are through to semi-final and Brazil are out - their first early elimination since 1936.
The quarter-final match between the two teams was very impressive as they both fought hard to book a place in the semi-finals which can only go to one side - Belgium had it after winning 2-1.

The path to Brazil's defeat to Belgium was all set out after Fernandinho netted an own goal with a header from Belgium's Hazard's corner into the area in 13th minutes, and that was soon followed by Kevin Dr Bruyne doubling the lead with a shot from 20-yard after Romelu Lukaku set him off with a pass in 31th minutes. Belgium now led comfortably.
Brazil made efforts to make a comeback which they could not until half time had past when Philippe Coutinho struck a 30-yard cross to Renato Augustos who powered a dazzling header home for Brazil's goal in 76th minutes.

Belgium held on to their lead through to full time and had the South Americans eliminated from the tournament in quarter-finals for the historic defeat.
They will meet France in the semi-finals on Tuesday July 10.
