Novak Djokovic Reaches New Height In ATP Ranking Says He Regained Top Form Quicker Than Expected
After two seasons of Gram Slam drought coupled with elbow injury, Novak Djokovic seemed to have found his winning streaks again.
On Sunday, he claimed his 13th major single title and fourth Wimbledon title at the Championship final in which he seemingly thrashed Kevin Anderson in straight sets 6-2 6-2 7-6(3).
Winning the Championship gave the Serb an incredible boost in ranking from career low of 21th to new height of tenth ranked with 3355 points in ATP players' ranking released on Monday.
Speaking about his return to to form, the former world number one said he "didn't expect to be back in top shape so quickly" and obviously if he was asked about it during clay-court season he "would probably maybe doubt that".
He opened up about what he went through emotionally when his performance hit rock bottom saying "there were several moments where I was frustrated and questioning whether I can get back on desired level or not. But that makes this whole journey even more special for me. I couldn't pick the better place, to be honest...to make a comeback. Wimbledon has been always a very special tournament to me, and to many players."
Not only has Djokovic moved up in ATP ranking, he has also ranked in fifth place with 3355 point in Race To London's Nitto ATP final scheduled to start from 11 - 18th of November.
