"Mission: Impossible - Fallout" Tops At Box Office On Its Debut, Hauls In $153.5 Million Worldwide

Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" made an impressive performance on its opening weekend as it raked in $61.5 million domestically to come atop at the box office.
Its performance in the international market well outweighed what it did in North America, netting a gross of $92 million on debut, it becomes the most successful of the franchise with overall hauling of $153.5 million worldwide.
Fallout is just $15 million shy its projection (178 million) which Cruise has never had it so good since his career best performing film "War of the Worlds" in 2005.
During the making of the film, Tom Cruise had an accident at the shooting of a scene in London when a jump stunt went really wrong on landing, he had to be flown back to the United States to be treated for injuries sustained.
However, following the Cruise-led action-packed film is "Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again" which hauled in $15 million in its second weekend at the box office bringing its domestic gross to a total of $70.4 million. It's followed in third place by Denzel Washington's "Equalizer 2" with a second weekend domestic gross of $14million.
