Manchester United Plan To Outbid Juventus' £88 Million Bid For Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United want to give bidding for Cristiano Ronaldo a go and would not let what Juventus are offering get in the way of getting the forward to Old Trafford.
On Wednesday, the Italian champions launch an aggressive bid of more than £500,000-a-week wages for the Portuguese which Real Madrid are said to be considering closely. They have held meeting with his agent Jorge Mendes.
According The Sun, United's vice chairman Ed Woodward have been following their Italian counterparts offer closely with the intentions of outbidding them because having an iconic player in their team can them compete favourably for League title.
The five-time Ballon D'or winner moved to Real Madrid from United after a deal of £80 million was agreed on in 2009. Now, Woodward and the board are back for the ex United player and intended holding a meeting with the player's agent Jorge Mende to kick off negotiation for his move to their club.
However, on Thursday, Spanish sports journalist Guillem Balague, revealed that the Bernabeu-side would let go of the player if any club come with an offer not less than €100 million.
"Quite clearly Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo know each other's intentions. There was a meeting between Ronaldo's representatives and Real Madrid last night in which the club heard he wants to go...If anybody comes with a bid of €100m (£88m) then ok we will let him go," Balague revealed.
