German Open 2018: Nikoloz Basilashvili Beats Leonardo Mayer To Become First Georgian To Win ATP World Tour Title

Never before has any Georgian players won a maiden title in history until Nikoloz  Basilashvili won his career first title in Hamburg on Sunday.
The Georgian, 23, seemingly dominated the match and thrashed his Argentine opponent Leonardo Mayer in straight sets 6-4 6-0 7-5 to claim his first ATP World Tour title.
The world number 81 printed his name in ATP World Tour history as the first Georgian to accomplish that feat after three attempts - Austrain Open Kitzbuhel 2016 and Memphis Open 2017.
"Coming into this tournament, I was really, really focused," said Nikoloz in a courtside interview "I had a feeling I could go far in this tournament. I don't know why. But I was really focused the whole week."
