Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Becomes Highest Paid Actor In History With Annual Income Of $124 Million
"The Rock" movie career has turned into a gold mine for him as the wrestler turned movie star is reportedly the all-time top earner in Forbes' history.
The 46-year-old was named by Forbes has the highest paid actor having pocketed $124 million (£95m) last year -that is nearly a double of was he earned ($65 million) a year before.
Forbes described "The Rock" income as one that is unmatched by any others in the history of the industry for the past 20 years since it has been collating and tracking their income performance.
The Jumanji star actor also announced his success to his social media followers and attributed his breakthrough in the movie industry to "working hard".
"I work extremely hard but never anticipated (in my wildest dreams) I'd become the highest paid actor in Forbes' history," he said in a caption to a picture update on Instagram.
Speaking about how he started off in life, he went on to say "I don't have a Harvard MBA, but my business philosophy and acumen has been sharpened over time and thru failure. My goal when I was wrestling in flea markets for $40bucks per match (well before the bright lights of the @wwe)."

The California-born actor is currently busy on set for a new film 'Red Notice' directed by Rawson Marshall scheduled to be released in 2020.
