Warner Bros. Sued For Copy Infringement Over Westworld Game
Warner Bros. Entertainment has found itself in a legal battle with a game company which is suing for theft of its computer codes used in making its game, and copyright infringement by the use of another company to perpetrate the act.
The plaintiff, Bethesda Softworks, accused Warner Bros. of conniving with Behaviour Interactive, a company it contracted to develop Fallout Shelter, to break into restricted access to all its software codes, and used everything in the making of another game "Westworld".
In the same vein, Bethesda further alleged in the lawsuit that Behaviour "breached its contract" by using the computer codes used in Fallout Shelter for Warner's Westworld because the two are similar considering game design, animations, features, codes and other elements.
Because Warner Bros. has unduly benefitted from the theft in the creation of its mobile game which allegedly was intended to woo consumers, Bethesda demands that the game be shut down, and damages made to their game be paid for from proceeds made from the counterfeit.
