United States, Canada And Mexico To Jointly Host FIFA 2026 World Cup
The United States alongside with Mexico and Canada has won the bid to host the Fifa 2026 World Cup.
This will be the first time the tournament will be hosted in North America in 32 years, a bid which it did win after scoring the bighest votes at the FIFA Congress meeting held in Moscow - United States-led host tram won 134 vote while Morocco had 64.
It was believed that voters opted for the joint-hosting led by the United States based on it capacity to withstand the finance and logistics requirements of ensuring a successful event which is projected to cost the trio about $14bn (£10.5bn).
The United States Soccer Federation president, Carlos Cordiero says after winning the bid that they are very thankful to have been given the "privilege of hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2026," because presently "football today is the only winner."
He continued to say, "We are very excited and humbled that the FIFA Member Associations have entrusted the CONCACAF region with the honour of hosting the 2026 World Cup in its new extended format."

Speaking about the condition of their facilities planned to be used at the World Cup he says "Each of the United Bid's 23 proposed stadiums are fully built, occupied, and operational, ensuring long-term use following the 2026 World Cup."
The United States have the largest share of the 80 games proposed and will stage 60 of all the fixtures which includes hosting all the games from quater-finals to the final whilst Mexico and Canada will host 10 games each.
