Russia 2018 World Cup: Diego Costa Gets Spain Much Needed Win Over Iran

Diego Costa remained instrumental to Spain's match victory, leading his side to 1-0 win over Iran to get the much needed maximum points, as they bid to make it to round of 16 at the World Cup.
Iran defeat did not come that easy until they self-inflicted when an attempt to clear the ball out of danger box caught Costa's foot and was deflected in for a goal to Spain in 54th minutes.
Not long after conceding, Iran came close to equalizing in 62 minutes but Saeid Ezatolahi's strike was disallowed for being caught in offside positioning.
Spain managed to hold on to the lead through to the full time, and are now topping their group with four points over Portugal which followed in second place with four points.
